"Light and Glow" by Los Jardines de Bruselas is a dreamy and ethereal Pop album.
Waves of synths lead most pieces, with sparse and pointed vocals that bite in from time to time to deliver insatiably catchy hooks that somehow manage to not sound out of place within the psychedelic and experimental sound-scapes they produce.
The track "Me and the Animals" is a good example of their unique instrumentation techniques- a saxophone accents most of this piece, but also there are sections that feature Roosters crowing and chickens clucking in synchronization to the beat... it may sound weird but they make it work. Similar elements are utilized within "Eskimos (The Ritual).
The song "Butterflies" really comes out of nowhere. Wet and acoustic guitars play off synths with a different sounding vocal and a very catchy structure. "Butterflies" purposefully implodes at the end, drowning in Raidohead-esque sounds.
Altogether "Light and Glow" is a very dynamic album that manages to be quite assessable and easily listenable while holding a more experimental and eclectic aesthetic.
