Located in the Pike Place Market, this is the perfect lunchtime catch-up spot, where friends gather, colleagues indulge in world flavors and everyone dodges the hoards of tourists during these summer months.
How I heard of this place: When a good friend visits from Southern California for a Seattle experience, it’s not hard to consider the Pike Place Market as the perfect lunch-time go-to. After a brief perusal, we found ourselves at Los Agaves, only one in our party having sampled their food truck fare prior to this culinary adventure.
Type of cuisine: “Made from the finest and top quality ingredients, and complemented with delectable sauces, our Mexican food will surely make your…feast…is irresistible and lip smacking, look no further than our Mexican servings.
If you are a gourmet and love Mexican food, then we are there to serve it…We offer a variety of authentic and delicious Mexican dishes including appetizing tacos, tortillas, nachos, tamales, burritos, and so on – offering the true flavor of the Mexican cuisine.”
Ambiance: A simple, walk-up booth with limited bar stool seating, the bustling nature of the Market is easily present at Los Agaves, as lunchtime rears its head and the hungry masses gather throughout.
What I ordered: Two tacos ($2 each), one grilled beef steak served with hot salsa and one chicken adobo served with hot salsa.
Our Californian visitor ordered two pork tacos, and my fellow-Seattle-ite enjoyed the Fresh Made Tamale ($4), a fresh banana leaf tamale with your choice of roasted chicken with mole sauce, diced pork with salsa verde, vegetarian with roman tomatoes sauce, jalapenos and Mexican cheese.
What I loved: Probably the best tamale I have sampled to date, still the grilled beef taco was my afternoon favorite!
Why I loved it: Simple, quick, delicious, affordable.
Cost: Low ($2 – $6 per item)
