Loot Crate is a monthly service in which you receive geek-friendly merchandise at a discount, grouped around a particular theme. This month’s theme was heroes, which is even broader than last month's villains theme. The hero of note for this particularly item is Groot, whom we just adore since watching "Guardians of the Galaxy." Loot Crate's finally getting with the zeitgeist in releasing items that have movies associated them at the same time -- the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles merchandise has its own movie out as well.
I really detest bobblehead dolls. They're just plain dumb. But I'm willing to make an exception here for Groot, as it's just the right size to be the baby dancing Groot in the after credits of "Guardians of the Galaxy." There's actually a separate figure for that Groot, this one is supposed to be full-sized complete with glow-in-the-dark hand, but he's just the right size, his head bobbles, so we call him Baby Dancing Groot.
My daughter adopted this little critter. She rated him an "Awesome" four out of five stars. Want your own Loot Crate? Sign up at LootCrate.com ($19.37/month for one month) and use code SAVE10 to receive 10% off.
