Recently, I was invited out to take a tour at SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza in Lee’s Summit and was amazed at what I saw and heard while there. My photographer friend and I were seated at a table in the posh dining room to wait for the manager. We were thrilled by the comfortable atmosphere, fun decorative details and music at the perfect volume for conversation. We immediately identified SPIN! as the type of place where people want to become regulars.
During the tour, we were shown how SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza takes steps to prevent cross contamination and saw that SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza offers gluten free service that makes everyone smile. More important than all that, though, we got to EAT!
SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza uses crusts from Olivia’s Oven for their gluten free pizzas. The crusts are thin, with an excellent texture and flavor. Gluten free pizzas come in a five inch personal size, or a eleven inch size to share. There is no skimping on the gluten free portions here.
Customers at SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza can have their gluten free pizza any way they want it. Most of the ingredients offered in the restaurant are gluten free, so there is plenty of variety. Pricing is very clear, with a four dollar up-charge on a large, two dollars on the small gluten free pizzas.
Fresh ingredients and inventive combinations are the norm at SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza. We were treated to three different flavors of pizza and each one was better than the last. My favorite was the Margherita Pizza. It was topped with the most amazing roasted tomatoes I have ever tasted. Fresh basil finished off the flavor sublimely.
To be perfectly candid, I have been gluten free for two years and this is the first time I have had “real” pizza since making that change. I didn’t feel like I was compromising and eating “special food” at all. It felt really good to be able to walk into a cool restaurant and enjoy amazing pizzeria pizza with a friend.
