Look, Eat, Drink; Art Los Angeles Contemporary.
Art world glitterati gathered at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica for the Opening Night Reception on Thursday January 24. This do not miss event kicked off the 4th year of Art Los Angeles Contemporary. The VIP lounge was bussing with fairgoers sipping and snacking. Collectors, artists, curators, art lovers, and the art curious, mingled, networked, partied, and oh yes, viewed some terrific art.
Like a perfectly mixed salad, emerging and established artists with galleries spanning the globe delivered a tasty mix of work from photographers, sculptors, painters and furniture designers. Ry Rocklen’s trophy furniture was a favorite resting spot for the champagne sipping crowd.
The French connection Ceci n’est pas gave the fair a Gallic flair with the French language floating in the air and smartly dressed exhibitors and patrons articulating and punctuating conversation with expressive hand gestures.
The fair will continue Saturday and Sunday January 26-27. Tickets for Art Los Angeles Contemporary are available at the box office or online.
