Way back at the end of September, I mentioned a set of wireless Logitech headphones that can connect to three audio devices at once. Well, I have spent some quality time with the Logitech’s Wireless F540 headset and I thought I’d share my impressions.

I’m just going to come right out and say it.

I love these things.

For those that haven’t heard about it, the F540 is a wireless headset that is specifically geared toward Xbox 360 and PS3 owners who like to stay up late at night. And yes, it also works on the PC and believe me, it has been a dream come true for my girlfriend.

No more Starcraft 2 blaring throughout the apartment after the sun has gone down.

It also has a 3.5mm audio source so you can essentially hook it up to anything not just your console or PC.

The F540 has volume control for both in-game sounds and for voice chat and it has a built-in microphone that can be flipped up and down (you can mute it that way as well) as you please. It also sounds flawless whether in-game on a console or using your favorite voice chat client.

I should also mention that you can connect the headset to 3 different games or devices at once and you can shuffle through them effortlessly with an Input button that rests on the back of the headset. It’s exceptionally easy to use and grow accustomed to.

It’s especially nice on Sunday’s when you want to game and keep up with the Niners game the same time.

Logitech has also used a 2.4GHz connection so you can move about your room and play and not suffer any consequences. As far as the battery is concerned, once the headset is fully charged, you can play for a solid 10 hours before you have to recharge them.

I don’t have the attention span to play games for 10 hours straight but I believe Logitech.

As I’ve said, it works wirelessly from a little set top box that you can hideaway and it will charge from there.

Now, these are also headphones so let’s speak to those for a second. They are noise canceling and they also keep a very good amount of sound inside the headphones. They are also extremely comfortable to wear and don’t waver even after extended periods of use.

All in all, it’s a great headset and it is multipurposed which makes its $149.99 a little more attractive. If you feel inclined to pick one up, and you really should, you can find it here.

Highly recommended.

Verdict:

+ Works with Xbox 360, PS3, PC and virtually anything else

+ Fantastic design, easy to use

+ Great sound – headphones and mic

- Lack of HDMI
