Perhaps Cape Coral residents have been keeping pretty quiet about this little seafood gem tucked out in the southwest corner of Cape Coral in order to keep it to themselves. Or, maybe it is just that we didn't hear about it right away because we generally hate crossing the river. In any case, we are glad some dear people finally told me to check it out because it is absolutely fantastic! Even though we were there during the week, the place was packed so obviously they are doing things right.
They are both a bistro and a seafood market and although one would expect it to feel crowded that wasn't the case. Their setup of the lobster tanks is very nicely done with beautiful cabinetry and lighting. They have a curved wall above the market area onto which they had two projections going that night - one was a cooking show and the other was music videos. The volume was perfect - you could hear it but it did not interfere with conversation.
The menu is very well organized and because it had so much to offer we took our time going over it. Although it is a seafood restaurant they also offer Angus beef for the meat lovers in your group. Obviously the crowning glory of their menu is lobster which is offered many different ways from sandwiches to as large a whole lobster as you would like. Their pricing extends up to those over 5 pounds and there did look to be at least a couple that size in the tanks. They also have a special each day of the week - our Thursday visit entailed getting a second appetizer for 50% off.
Perhaps the only thing to outshine the food was the excellent service. Everyone there was very cheerful and helpful. I was especially thrilled when another server witnessed another patron refuse to allow me to photograph their appetizer and stopped at my table later with one for someone else and asked me if I would like to take a picture before he delivered it. That was an amazing display of attention to customers especially since he wasn't even our server.
The only problem we had at Lobster Lady's seafood restaurant in Cape Coral was that there were far too many other lobster and seafood dishes we also wanted to have - so it is safe to say we will be returning again and again!
