Koffin Kats at Woodruffs Bar in Ypsilanti

The Koffin Kats performed Friday night at Woodruffs Bar in Ypsilanti. These guys have been around for over 10 years and are currently touring in support of their 8th album entitled, Born Of The Motor. This new album has been their strongest in sales, compared to any of their previous releases. This trio plays high-energy Psychobilly/Punk Rockabilly and hails from Garden City, Michigan. The bands current lineup consists of Lead Vocalist/Upright Bassist Vic Victor, Eric "e-Ball" Walls on Vocals/Drums, and EZ Ian Jarrell on Vocals/Guitar. These guys put on killer live shows and have a fantastic following of die-hard fans.

Woodruffs is an old fashion bar in the heart of historic Depot Town Ypsilanti. It features cheap drinks, an awesome staff, one pool table, an intimate stage and even a cozy fireplace. It is one of my favorite live music venues around. The bar was packed to the max with fans of all ages.

The Koffin Kats had a lot to celebrate at this show. It was not only Vic's Birthday, but also the final performance with guitarist EZ Ian Jarrell. Fans were sad to hear of his departure and wish him nothing but the best.

The Koffin Kats hit the stage around 11:30pm and played a 2 hour set of songs from their entire catalog, including a few new songs and a cover of "Maneater" by Hall & Oats. Everyone was a hot sweaty mess after all the rockin' out during the show, but no one was complaining. The new guitarist John Kay was introduced to fans on stage and joined in on the final song "How It Ends". It was a good time had by all. Can't wait for these guys to play around town again and check out this new addition to the band.

You can purchase the new album on CD & limited press Vinyl, including the rest of their catalog here :
