Little White Lies: 'Devils in Disguise' (2012)

"Devils in Disguise" by Little White Lies is a grungy Indie Garage Rock album soaked in attitude.

The overall features of Little White Lies seems to be centered around a really down and dirty production, with the duet of a sultry and sinister female vocal and a loose and heavily distorted slide guitar being the showcase of their sound.

Songs like "Velvet Revolution" mix equal parts of the electric slide guitar with a fuzzy synth bass for a thick sound that really seems to pulse.

The track "Farewell" provides an early breath for the listener, starting out quite subdued, and slowly unwinding a very mellow Acid Rock sound that remains quite moody and enjoyably spacious throughout.

Image-wise Little White Lies looks like Meg White paired with Elwood Blues... while there's definitely some White Stripes and bluesy influence in the band, I'm really only mentioning their looks because it's always quite refreshing to see a band with some style- within the never-ending avalanche of bands sporting the same dumb T shirts.

"Devils in Disguise" by Little White Lies is available at their Bandcamp page.
