Little Lassie's of Milford, Conn. knows the perks of a close-knit community

Little Lassies is a little known treasure on the shoreline town of Milford, Conn. The cottage-like building sits unassumingly on Naugatuck Avenue. This is a road traveled by many on their way to the highway. Walking in to the establishment on any early morning , the patron would be warmed first by the smile of owner Phil and secondly by a steaming mug of freshly brewed coffee.

Established in 1982, the diner has become a stomping ground for teachers on their way to school, veterans up early for a morning cup-of-Joe and even the clergyman of a local church. The regular customers are discernible from their presence behind the counter.

Yes. When you are a regular at Little Lassie’s, you return the warm greeting from Phil then you grab a mug and pour yourself a cup of coffee and perhaps even offer to top off the diminished mugs of those at the counter (don’t expect a tip though).

The price of a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee is just right and the quality of food is worth more than you’ll pay. If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor: stop on by, say hello to Phil and sit down to enjoy one of the best homemade breakfasts in town.
