Little Lamb’s Bible, Faux Fur, Board Book, Zonderkidz, 2012, Ages 2-5, 20 Pages, ISBN-978: 0310725534, $15.99

The Little Lamb’s Bible for girls is the same as the Little Lion’s Bible for boys except for the cover, which is a cute lamb’s face with longer ears than the lion has.

Otherwise the plush, soft and cuddly, child size storybook Bible will soon become a favorite with youngsters, ages two through five. Rhyming Old and New Testament stories teach about God and his love, care and concern for them.

Stories begin in Genesis where “God shaped the earth, turned on the light, and separated day from night…” to…

Stories of Noah and the flood where “…when folks were bad, Only Noah made God Glad…” to…

Daniel in the Lion’s Den where, “…Bad men tricked the king to say, it was against the law to pray…”

The salvation message in Luke completes the book and says, “Jesus loved with arms out wide when on the cross he hung and died…”

Ten children’s stories, six from the Old Testament and four from the New Testament, are written with seven to eight rhyming lines in words children understand.

Colorful illustrations of animals, angels and people add to the engaging stories to make the Bible a preschooler’s favorite. The plush covers and sweet lamb’s face with elongated ears encourage little girl’s interest and touch. Not only would the Bible make a perfect first Bible, it would be a wonderful addition to any Easter basket April 8, 2012.
