Actual Title: L!fe Happens
Synopsis: Two friends living in the trendy Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles try to maintain their lifestlye despite one of them having a new baby. (Netflix)
Despite the over-reaching unique title, the movie itself was surprisingly good. When you're watching Netflix late at night, all done with whatever sitcom or fandom show you just finished binge watching, you start looking for something lame to fall asleep to. This is exactly what I did when I came across this movie. However, to my surprise, the movie was funny, witty in places, and definitely fell into multiple categories, including: RomCom, Comedy, Comedy with Strong Female Lead, and Realistic (if that even is a category).
The movie, follows the lives of the two main characters, Kim (Ritter) and Deena (Bosworth), after one of them kind of accidentally has a baby. To avoid spoilers, I won't explain "kind of accidentally". After the baby, Kim is forced to adjust her life, while Deena is going on to do bigger things, all of course a rockin' independent lady not afraid to get what she wants. After a series of events, love-related and professional, the two finally discover who they are and who they want to be. Classic story-line, but with not-so-classic actors.
If you're looking for a rainy day movie, or just something to watch before bed, or a movie exactly like the description, this is your movie. With 3/5 stars, I can say that on a Netflix scale, "I liked it".
