Goorin Bros. hats

The time is now to start thinking about Father’s Day gifts. A month ago you were introduced to two spiffy lids from San Francisco-based Goorin Bros. Either of these hats would style up your Pops, and both would help make him the coolest Dad around.

Having never worn a porkpie hat before, I didn’t know if I would be able to nail the look or not, but as soon as I popped it onto my head I knew this hat was right for me. The Guillermo inspires a bit of a swagger without venturing into the cocky territory of a fedora. It’s as whimsical as it is stylish, and since it’s a Goorin Bros. hat it is beautifully constructed. This hat, with its 1.5” stingy brim, 3.25” crown, with a 1.5” contrasting band with a Goorin pin for added style points, and a blue tie print sweatband is sure to become an instant favorite.

Soul Surfer

Though very familiar with ivy hats, I’ve never actually tried the duckbill version until now, and I have to say that I may have a new favorite. The curve of the 2” bill adds a bit of style and makes the overall shape of the hat much rounder than your regular ivy or flat cap. The light twill of the Soul Surfer makes this a perfect go-to hat for the summer, and this notion is reinforced by the 1950s inspired summer island getaway scene printed on the cotton liner.
