The IS has rear or all-wheel drive and two engine V-6 engine options.
We recently tested the IS F-Sport model, which has a large spindle grille and an aggressive stance that includes LED arrows beneath the headlights and similar styling in the rear lights. The wheelbase grew by three inches but it still has a good dimensional position.
On the inside, there's a new dashboard design that is arranged vertically. The Remote Touch navigation system can also be included.
The increased spaciousness in the rear seat will be welcomed by any adult who rides back there. The previous version was cramped.
There also is a now a split-folding backseat that doesn't quite get all the way flat.
The F-Sport model that we tested has the 3.5-liter V-6; the other option is the 2.5-liter.
There is now a drive select mode that lets you choose from normal, Eco and Sport. In the latter mode, the system can control how the transmission downshifts according to G force and can maintain the gear into a sharp turn.
The F Sport also has its own suspension and tuning that enhance its handling.
Sticker price for the IS F Sport is right around $45,000.
