Sunset Grill is a casual upscale experience with a gorgeous beach for the scenery and delicious food for the taste buds. The owners created this tasty experience with exceptional touches. Using ideas they collected from various travel adventures, they combined them into unique works of art and brought them to life in San Carlos...
The ambiance is fantastic. Old record albums serve as place mats accented with handmade shell and rope napkin holders and cut glass wine bottle lights sparkle. A collaboration of sand floors, coconut lamps and mood lighting, blend in harmony and set the stage for relaxation. There is a swing bar where folks can enjoy signature cocktails, sitting on real swings feet stretched out in the air and eyes glued on the gorgeous beach--nicknamed cotton beach-- in front of them watching the surf ebb and flow.
The food is delectable. The restaurant makes all their own sauces –even their own ketchup--which are offered in a dipping tray and worth tasting with homemade potato chips or fries. The fish of the day melted in my mouth, as did the shrimp stuffed avocado and my husbands carne asada. With Indio on tap, Mexican love songs playing in the background, and good friends, it was truly a memorable dinner.
As the sun goes down on the water the lights come on and if you travel down to the Sunset Grill you will find a reward at the end of the road.
Sunset Grill is orchestrated by Lisa Armano and Frank Hernandez, it is located directly beside the not to be missed beach bar, The Soggy Peso. I can hear Don Henley from the Eagles singing it now... "Let's go down to the Sunset Grill..."
