The ambiance in the hotel was relaxed and peaceful, even though it was fully booked both of the nights we stayed. Each room is decorated with a "tone" (excuse the pun) of Bach's work. Our room was tastefully decorated with a Bach cantata on the wall and organ pipes dangling from the ceiling in a chandalier-style light. Additionally, our room overlooked the Thomaskirche, so if you want a great view, be sure to ask for one of the rooms which faces the church's courtyard. You won't be disappointed!
Although there was an initial error concerning our room, it was quickly resolved with a great deal of professionalism from the staff. We also had a kitchenette in our room, which was ideal for traveling with an infant of if you are staying for more than a couple of days and want to save a penny on eating out.
Again, the location can't be beat, as it is within easy walking distance (1-3 minutes) of restaurants, shops, bakeries and museums. The Hauptbahnhof is only about a 12 minute walk away, and as you will get to stroll through the town on your way to the hotel, you can begin to spot some of the places you'll want to see in the city. Whether you are on business, a leisure trip as a couple, an extended stay, or a short family holiday, this hotel will provide you with more than just a cozy stay - it will make your trip to Germany's Music City worth it!
