Conveniently located only a couple of streets off the main thoroughfare in Easton, PA, La Pazza sits on a corner, almost undetected to the passerby. The faint glow of neon in the windows is the only indication that the building houses one of Lehigh Valley's best keep gay and lesbian secrets. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood with ample on street parking, La Pazza appears to be your average, run of the mill, corner beer and shot bar.
Gay Friendly
Aside from their website, rainbow adornments on the entrance door are the only indicators of La Pazza being a gay friendly bar. An initial impression inside would not likely change that uncertainty. The small bar itself seats about a dozen. There are several tables of four stools each lining the walls. The patrons are comprised of mostly regulars. The place is small, smokey and cash only. The restrooms are functional, easily accessible, and needing the same upkeep we all claim to be getting around to in our own homes. After a couple of hours, the owners, patrons and entire bar feels very endearing and comfortable.
Feels like home
Lesbian couple and La Pazza owners Gail and Althea have a way of inviting their customers into their bar like family would invite you into their home. With the digital jukebox playing, people sing songs of their past, many times accompanied by the available microphone, dance with their friends and lovers, watch one of two televisions, joke, play and even compete for the title of Wii bowling champion.
A small bar with a lot to offer
It is difficult to distinguish the gay from the straight at La Pazza, simply because it does not matter. Once you walk through that door, everyone is accepted without question. A wonderful mix of gay, straight, male, female, regulars, first timers and carry out customers can be found. With all the basic comforts, this bar is clearly one of a kind.
Come as you are
A casual atmosphere coupled with affordable drinks and snacks, seemingly endless entertainment and nightly special activities makes La Pazza a place one is not likely to stumble upon accidentally, but one not easily forgotten when they do.
