Dallas has yet another fun way to celebrate and ring in the New Year. For those with 2 hours to spare, visitors and locals alike, JC Bartending offers an amateur bartending class.

Admit it, you have likely been mesmerized by the magical moves of the bartender as they spin bottles and gracefully slide your favorite concoction your way. Jason and Carol Wooden of JC Bartending Academy were wise enough to realize that although most of these bar visitors would not become professional bartenders, they can be awarded the experience for one day.

So, then at the end of 2010, they began offering a 2 hour Amateur bartending class. Perfect for individuals looking to pick up some new, fun-inciting skills, or groups ready to celebrate Girls’ Night Out, Corporate Events or even Birthday parties, this short course briefs participants on bartending lingo, tools of the trade and the know-how to splash together 10 popular drinks. For only $25, they will also learn how bartending has developed from Prohibition days to now, and what bartending life is really like. Over 2,000 people have already taken their shot behind the bar!

All tools and supplies for the class are provided by JC Bartending Academy. All participants need to bring is a desire to learn and enjoy themselves. For those who would like to continue the path to becoming a bartender, they can attend classes to become professionally certified and also Wine Education courses. JC facilities cover 1,700 feet of space that will be well used over the 32 hour course. Those who participated in the amateur class will get a discount.

Now, an amateur with skills, I'll be timing and pouring with style from here on out.
