Laura Wilde performed at the House of Blues Orlando in Downtown Disney on August 19, 2013. Laura was the opening support for Ted Nugent. Around 25 years ago, Ted Nugent’s opening support was Lita Ford. Today, Laura Wilde is an equivocal replacement and is a perfect fit.
Laura hails from Australia and is touring for her second summer with Nugent. She was named last year by Revolver as one of the “Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock.” Laura came onto the stage and worked up the crowd. There’s a lot of pressure involved with being the opening support for Nugent. The fans are all there to see the “Motor City Madman” and the support needs to be almost just as good as what fans are there to see.
It did not take long for Laura to earn respect from the crowd. During her first song a quick glance at the fans and one could see the camouflage-toting crowd with emotionless faces. But by the time that first song was finished the faces were smiling and hands were up in the air. Her good looks, cheeky but soft personality, charm, and riff ripping guitar skills made her fit right in where she belonged. Laura’s skills and talent of mixing up blues with rock undoubtedly contributes to her being a rising star.
Laura Wilde is a young 23 year old Australian that has a passion and love for rock and the blues. In the past, she has worked as a presenter on Beat TV and was in the house band on Australia’s Got Talent. She has opened for Fuel, Shinedown, Ted Nugent, and performed a private performance for the Saudi Arabian royal family.
Laura will be presented with the “Best New Female Artist” at the upcoming Vegas Rocks! Magazine Music Awards on August 25, 2013, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
