Don't let Lacuna Coil's opening slot on Gigantour fool you, they're far from an "Opening band" by any sense of the term. The cruel nature of any major musical event like Gigantour is that one band will play first and have the shortest set, as was the case last Sunday night in Milwaukee at The Rave.
The band hails from Milan, Italy and their style is perhaps best described as Gothic or Alternative Metal. They're no strangers to success either, having sold nearly 2 million records to date.
Currently Lacuna Coil is supporting their latest release on the Century Media label entitled "Dark Adrenaline." The disk was released January 23rd, 2012 and had the best US debut week charting for the band yet in their career by reaching number 15 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 2 on both the Alternative Albums Chart and the Hard Rock Albums Chart.
The band is comprised of Cristina Scabbia on vocals, Andrea Ferro on vocals, Cristiano "Pizza" Migliore on guitar, Marco "Maus" Biazzi on guitar, Marco Coti Zelati on bass guitar and keyboards, and Cristiano "Criz" Mozzati on drums and percussion.
Lacuna Coil came out swinging on Sunday night and warmed up the crowd for an exciting evening of metal music in Milwaukee. Their richly textured sound and powerful vocals courtesy of Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro put the crowd in the perfect state of mind for the rest of the event.
