La Rondine and Rigoletto by the Florida Grand Opera

2012 Florida Grand Opera season continues with great success after the opening with the beautiful Zarsuela Luisa Fernanda the next FGO production is La Rondine by Pucini and Rigoletto by Verdi this last one through February 18th.

If you have not gone to see Rigoletto, I highly recommend it, this production by FGO is very well balanced, having outstanding singers such as Nadine Sierra as Gilda, who gave a wonderful interpretation, her voice is superb with impeccable technique, you could hear each note crystal clear and with great musicality.

Michael Fabiano as The Duke of Mantua, sung with vigor and expressiveness, also a beautiful clear and profound tenor voice, both singers left a lasting impression

Mark Walters as Rigoletto is very convincing and is a strong character in the Opera, a good singer with a well projected voice.

The stage design is very good and the colorful costumes design are part of an attractive scene. Interesting details on the final ending of the Opera appear when Gilda is singing as a spirit and Rigoletto is holding her body .

In general a great production and a must see.

La Rondine, was beautifully sung by soprano Elizabeth caballero as Doretta. The costumes and stage settings are outstanding as well as the choreography in act II. The light design is exceptional giving relevance to the ambiance of the belle epoque and the beautiful costumes.

A special mention is for conductor Ramon Tebar, leading the orchestra and singers with his expressive and strong movements and taking the romantique music of La Rondine to a higher level.

Maestro Tebar was careful not to cover the singers with the dynamics of Puccini's beautiful music. It is rear to find a conductor that lovingly breathes with the singers. Bravo for maestro Tebar!

These two productions have International level and FGO can be very proud of them

So do not miss the Rigoletto and the next Opera to premier Romeo & Juliete.

And see you at the Opera!
