Like many other drugstore makeup brands, L’Oreal Paris has introduced quite a few new products in recent months. One of the most interesting items is their Infallible 24 Hour Eye Shadow, which has a unique texture that is a cross between a powder and a cream. These shadows are similar to Giorgio Armani’s popular Eyes To Kill Intense Eyeshadows, but with the L’Oreal option costing $7.95 and Armani’s version carrying a $32.00 price tag, you may be able to save some money – if L’Oreal’s Infalliable 24 Hour Eye Shadows can deliver the goods.
Packaging
The Infallible Eye Shadows come in small plastic jars with a square bottom that hold 3.5 grams of product. The jars are clear, so you can see the shadow’s color through the bottom. Each lid features a label that contains the shade’s name.
Colors
L’Oreal’s Infallible 24 Hour Eye Shadows come in 12 shades that range from neutral to bold. The colors include Endless Pearl, a satin ivory; Iced Latte, a shimmery beige; Eternal Sunshine, a shimmery gold; Amber Rush, a shimmery copper; Bronzed Taupe, a shimmery dark bronze; Continuous Cocoa, a shimmery dark brown; Golden Sage, a shimmery olive; Sultry Smoke, a matte mid-tone gray; Infinite Sky, a shimmery light blue; Perpetual Purple, a shimmery violet; Midnight Blue, a shimmery deep blue; and Eternal Black, a shimmery black.
Availability
The Infallible 24 Hour Eye Shadows are available anywhere L’Oreal products are sold. On Long Island, you can find them at Walgreen’s, CVS, Rite Aid, Target and Walmart locations. You may also be able to find them at some grocery stores, such as Stop n’Shop and King Kullen. Long Island Ulta locations in Levittown, Commack, Lake Grove, and Patchogue also carry the Infallible Shadows.
Verdict
L’Oreal claims that the Infallible Eye Shadows provide intense color for 24 hours without creasing or fading. The shadows may not last an entire day, but they do provide rich, intense color that stands out among other drug store shadow options. The powder-cream texture of the shadows makes them very easy to apply and blend, and they hold up for a good eight to ten hours without fading. If you need them to last longer, wear an eye primer like L’Oreal De-Crease Eye Shadow Base ($7.48) or Urban Decay Primer Potion ($20) beneath them. The Infallible Shadows have such good color payoff that they’re perfect for nights out when you want a bold, sexy eye look. However, lighter shades like Iced Latte, Endless Pearl, and Amber Rush work well for soft looks during the day.
