GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Kris Allen set the stage on fire as he performed his most recent hits at High Dive Gainesville.
Allen made a stop at High Dive Gainesville Jan. 24 for a 90 minute concert. Among the songs that he performed were “Alright With Me,” “Live Like We’re Dying,” “Leave You Alone” and may more.
I was kind of skeptical of the concert, I did not want to go at first, and I thought his performance was not going to be that great. However, I was wrong. He performed very well.
At the beginning of his performance, it was a bit lull due to the fact that the first song he played was not that popular to his fans. Nonetheless, when he performed “Live Like We’re Dying” his fans just started screaming so viciously that I thought I was going to be hearing-impaired.
In addition, the "Idol" performed along with singer-songwriter Jillette Johnson. Johnson told the crowd how lucky she was to perform with the "Idol" and also how she loves to be an opening act for Allen.
In general, I am not a big fan of Allen, but after I watched his performance, I got to like his music better. He told his fans how he loves performing live and that’s how he makes new friends.
The only drawback that he made during the concert was that he did not perform his latest hit “The Vision of Love.” I just thought that if he had performed that song the concert would have been better because the song is very recent and popular.
Overall, the "Idol" performance was tremendous. It was just like one of these nights that he had to perform on "American Idol" except this time no one had to vote for him.
