Kiss the container goodbye--chapped lips, too!

It's winter in New York.  You've got chapped lips.  And you can't stop picking at flaking-off skin, sometimes even making your lips bleed.  Ouch!  You need some serious help--you can't be kissing anybody on New Year's Eve if your lips are gross!

The absolute best chapped-lips-fixing product on the market is, without a doubt, Philosophy's Kiss Me very emollient lip balm.  That being said, this amazing product comes in some of the worst packaging!

Philosophy's Kiss Me melts into lips, instantly making chapped, dry, flaking lips feel softer and smoother.  It soothes your lips with a hint of cool, refreshing mint.  It adds a little bit of pinkish color to give your lips a natural-looking bit of color, and it's a nice tint to have at a time when your lips feel too awful for you to slather lipstick or sticky glosses all over them.  You can feel the difference in minutes, and if you sleep with Kiss Me on your lips overnight, you'll wake up to find that the texture of your lips is significantly improved, and you won't feel as much pain as you did the night before.

But such an amazing product comes with a price.  The balm is often very tough to squeeze out of the tube.  Never fear, though: if you try really, really hard to squeeze it out, it eventually comes out...

the other end.

Yes, I'm serious.  If the balm won't come out the front end of the tube like it's supposed to, and you keep squeezing, it comes out the other end.  Like, the back of the tube...where it's not supposed to be coming out.  (Not a fluke, either--this author, who is kinda scrawny and doesn't have a lot of muscle power, has busted two tubes of Kiss Me this way!)

Kiss Me is worth buying because it really and truly is the best product for chapped, dry, flaky lips.  But perhaps when you buy it, you should invest in a small container (like a little pillbox).  Before you let that gloss bust out of the back of the tube, why not cut off the back of the tube and squeeze the balm into your small pillbox?  This proactive approach allows you to avoid any surprise lip balm malfunctions later on, and then you can just dip your finger into the little box, snag some balm, and rub it into your aching lips.

Note that this packaging malfunction doesn't seem to happen with the Kiss Me SPF 20--but that product's not as effective in repairing weather-damaged lips, and it doesn't have the fresh taste of the original Kiss Me.  You're better off buying the original Kiss Me and emptying it into a small container of your choosing than buying Kiss Me SPF 20, which seems more durable but much less effective for your skincare needs.

Rating: 3 out of 5 well-manicured nails (would have gotten a rating of 5 if its tube wasn't so problematic!)
