Kira, Daughter of the Moon by Beth Trissel has witchcraft and murderous thieves and so much more inside its pages. The story takes place in colonial Virginia where Logan McCutcheon returns home and many people start to wonder if he really was a captive of the Shawnee Indians or was it something else. His behavior leaves many wondering. While he was gone Kira McClure waited for his return much to the chagrin of some would be suitors. Even worse is that since his return there have been accusations of witchcraft thrown at her. Wait - that's not all - keep turning the pages until you get to where the band of murderous thieves come to town. Now what? Can it get any worse? Who will help protect the town and its residents? To find out, grab a copy of the book for your Kindle or buy the hard copy. The story starts May 1765 in the Allegheny Mountains of Western Virginia. Who knows where it will end.

Kira, Daughter of the Moon was published in 2012 by author Beth Trissel. This is but one in a number of romance novels. She has written several historical novels in the romance genre. Her newest book has Shawnee Indians possibly capturing McCutcheon. Beth Trissel received the 2008 Golden Heart Finalist, 2008 Winner Preditor's & Editor's Reader's Poll, Publisher's Weekly BHB Reader's Choice Best Books of 2009, the 2010 Best Romance Novel List at Buzzle, Five Time Book of the Week at LASR and the 2012 Double Epic Award Finalist.

The story line is well written and will keep you turning the pages to see what's going to happen next and then next and then next again. Don't forget about the murderous thieves. Many individuals like to read romance novels because of the formula; girl meets boy, girl nearly gets boy, girl loses boy and then in the end with many of them the girl finally gets the boy. It's read for entertainment and relaxation, but this is one page turner you might read in record speed. Except when you get near the end. If it's read slower the story will last longer. That's when it's time to savor the story for a while and when the story is really good it almost seems a shame to begin another book with the memory of the current book still fresh in your mind.

This is what Trissel has to say about her inspiration for this story, "Many stories lie at the heart of Kira, Daughter of the Moon, but the beginning emerged while I was writing Through the Fire, my award-winning historical romance novel with a The Last of the Mohican’s flavor. Vivid dreams of a plot line connected with that story came to me, and not only while I was asleep. These glimpses of a related novel led me to include certain elements in Through the Fire that later surfaced in Kira, Daughter of the Moon, including a treasure I can’t go into without giving away too much. And dead doesn’t necessarily mean gone. And I do mean dead, not the ‘you thought they were dead but weren’t really kind of stuff.’ I’m talking ghostly here." Kira, Daughter of the Moon can be found in several places, including The Wild Rose Press.

The author, Beth Trissel, lives on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with plenty of family and animals present.Trissel enjoys the Native American history of the area along with the history of Virginia.
