There are plenty of different companies that produce energy and snack bars. Most of them use ingredients that are processed or genetically modified. It can be hard to decipher labels and to decide what the most healthy choice is! KIND is a company that is all about using natural and minimally processed ingredients in their snacks. They generously sent me a few products to try out.
KIND began their company in 2004 with just 8 bar varieties, and now have over 22 bars and 6 snack cluster varieties. They say that you should be able to have a healthy and tasty snack. The company prides itself in only using whole ingredients that are natural and pronounceable. The company also started somewhat of a social movement, supporting small acts of kindness all throughout the world.
I tried 2 different kinds of bars: Maple glazed pecan & sea salt, and blueberry vanilla & cashew. I also tried dark chocolate granola with cranberries and a blueberry vanilla granola bar.
Maple glazed pecan & sea salt: I LOVE the hint of salt in this bar. The maple flavor really went well with the pecans. I thought this bar was delicious.
Blueberry vanilla & cashew: This bar was also delicious. I thought it could have used a little more blueberry flavor, but overall it was great. I also tried a granola bar in this same flavor. It was good, but it fell apart easily and it got pretty crumbly.
Dark chocolate & cranberry clusters: I ate this granola with greek yogurt, by itself, and with some almond milk. It was hard to taste the dark chocolate and cranberry when I ate it with the greek yogurt and milk. However, when I ate it by itself those flavors really came out.
KIND snacks are great to take with you on-the-go. You can bring them with you knowing that you have a healthy and natural option when you need a snack. I took these with me on a day that I worked almost 14 hours. I felt like they extinguished my hunger and I felt good knowing that I had chosen something healthy to eat!
