Among the newest offerings by Kenra is Blow Dry Spray, a non-aerosol product which the manufacturer claims will dramatically reduce blow dry time and protect hair from thermal styling up to 428ºF, all while leaving hair lustrous, soft and smooth. Sounds like a product we would all love to have in our hairstyling arsenal, but can this product do everything Kenra claims it can?
The answer is a resounding yes. Since my salon began carrying Blow Dry Spray a few months ago, this product has quickly become our undisputed top seller and a favorite among our stylists. Of course, any product which reduces styling time is bound to be a favorite among professional stylists, so naturally we were skeptical about Kenra's claims. However, after talking to numerous stylists and clients, we all agree that by using Blow Dry Spray, we can shave about ten minutes off our blowout time on average. Perhaps not as miraculous as Kenra claims (our sales rep promised that it would cut drying time in half), but to a professional stylist, saving ten minutes per client translates into a big boost in salon productivity.
Blow Dry Spray contains argan oil, jojoba oil, and evaporative silicones which help the hair dry faster. It has an amazing fragrance and several of our stylists use it as a detangler, styling product, and flat iron spray. In other words, this one product replaces a whole boatload of other products. This product also provides incredible humidity resistance, making it the perfect blowout tool for the hazy days of summer.
The only drawback to this product is that it is best-suited for those with normal to thick hair. However, those with fine hair can use Kenra Blow Dry Mist, which contains the same ingredients as Blow Dry Spray, but in special lightweight formulation. The 3.4-ounce bottle retails for around $22 in most salons, and you can find a list of salons which carry this product by visiting the salon locator on Kenra's website.
