When it comes to highchairs there are thousands of different makes and models to choose from. For our first daughter, we lived in a condo and needed to maximize space and opted to go with a Fisher Price SpaceSaver. I still think that option, at the time, was the best for us…but if I had know about the Keekaroo, things might have been different.
With our second daughter, I was over the traditional highchair and decided to use our first daughter’s Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster Seat as our youngest everyday highchair -- I’ve actually found that a number of moms who have second children opt this route for convenience sake.
Needless to say it was with great enthusiasm that I agreed to test out Keekaroo’s Right Height High Chair– the second kid always gets hand-me-downs so my little one was really excited to have a new chair too, at least that’s what I think she would say….if she talked.
Made of real wood, Keekaroo’s Designer High Chair is pretty awesome. The design is functional and contemporary at the same time. Sleek lines and frills free this chair also has a smaller footprint than some of the other larger and more bulky highchairs out there. This wood high chair is also JPMA certified to the highest ASTM standards and the tip resistant base offers a safe seating solution for your little ones.
I was lucky enough to have the company send me its Mahogany version high chair made with a low VOC, plant based lacquer finish. The Height Right highchair includes a wooden tray with BPA-Free and Phlalate Free plastic tray cover as well as a three-point safety belt restraint. The company also included its Infant Insert in a cool brilliant turquoise color – which can be ordered seperately. The only thing missing from my shipment was the company’s Comfort Cushion which can be used to replace the Infant Insert once your child no longer needs to use the wooden tray – we’re not quite there yet since my youngest still thinks it’s ok to throw food all over the floor. Both the Infant Insert and Comfort Cushion are BPA-Free and Latex-Free and offer antimicrobial protection. They are also easy to wipe clean and are impermeable to liquids – plus both are proudly made in the USA.
A quick side not to parents: assembly of your Height Right High Chair is required. Thankfully it only took me 20 minutes to put the entire chair together – without any help from my husband, I might add.
Fully assembled the high chair is even more impressive. Before adding the Infant Insert I took a turn sitting on the chair? What? Yup, you read correctly. Oh, did I forget to mention that this high chair grows with your baby? From 6 months to 250 pounds, the Keekaroo highchair features a height and depth adjustable seat and foot plate that can be adjusted in one inch increments. How cool and convenient is that? In fact, this highchair is so cool that my almost four year old asked to try it out.
