On July 3, “Freedom Fest” was held at the Pennysaver Amphitheater in Farmingville, Long Island. It featured performances from such country singers as Lisa Matassa, Justin Moore, Jerrod Niemann, among many others.
Long Island native Lisa Matassa commenced her set with “Learning As You Grow,” and it was followed by “Me Time.”
“You guys are awesome!” she exclaimed. “It’s hot up here.”
She dedicated “Sunrise Highway” to her friends and fans in Long Island, and subsequently paid a tribute to two of her musical heroines, Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston, by singing a soaring rendition of “I Will Always Love You.”
Lisa closed her set by performing her newest single “Wouldn’t You Like To Know” and “Somebody’s Baby.”
Jerrod Niemann showed Long Island how to have a good time! He opened his set with “One More Drinkin’ Song” and he immediately broke into “What Do You Want” and his latest single “Shinin’ on Me.”
He closed his set with his chart-topping hit “Lover, Lover,” and Jerrod thanked the New York crowd for coming out tonight.
Justin Moore opened his mini-concert with “Guns” and followed it with “How I Got To Be This Way.”
“Well, hello. How are you feeling this evening? My name is Justin Moore and this is my first time in the Long Island area. We play country music,” he said.
He continued with “If You Don’t Like My Twang” and his new single, the love song “Til My Last Day.”
“Thank you very much,” Justin said. “I’ve had a good time so far!”
He went on to sing “Bait a Hook,” as well as his chart-topping hits “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” and “Small Town U.S.A.,” both of which garnered him standing ovations.
“I love this place!” Justin exclaimed. “Thank you for this #1 record. We love you for it.”
He concluded with “Backwoods.”
“God Bless you all and thanks for being out here. Happy Fourth of July,” Justin Moore said.
Aside from the extremely hot weather, all of these aforementioned country performers put on entertaining mini-concerts at this year's “Freedom Fest” given their short time frames, and it was a real treat to see the fans sing all their song lyrics back to the artists.
