The show marked the second consecutive rap show to sell-out Eagles Ballroom, Childish Gambino performed to a packed house the previous week [review]. Juicy J has been growing momentum, having established a following as half of Three 6 Mafia. He recently topped the charts on Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" and parked his latest album, "Still Trippy" atop the Billboard Rap Album chart.

The vibe within the Ballroom was electric leading up to Juicy J's set. When the lights dimmed, fans quickly took to the air and pogoed as J worked through his catalog. He mixed in songs from his solo career as well as Three 6 Mafia, while also throwing down on a few choice covers from Wiz Khalifa and Future.

It was impressive that J could work the crowd into a frenzy with only his words and a backing DJ, drawing energy similar to a full ensemble akin to a Five Finger Death Punch show. Every word and motion was met with a responsive roar from his dynamic fanbase.

As his tour comes to a close--he has only a pair of tour dates remaining in Washington, D.C. and Charlotte, N.C. next week--fans can look forward to his next album, "The Hustle Continues," due later this year. There's also hope that he'll push out a collaborative effort with the Taylor Gang in the near future.
