Joyce Meyer is one of my favorites because she's real and she knows how to be dynamic in speaking the Truth. Whether you're already a believer or you are in your process, Joyce writes several gems we can all benefit from. Change Your Words Change Your Life befriended me when I found myself in a pit. I find myself either spilling my guts or slipping back into solitude saying nothing. She wrote "too often we talk about what we feel or what we think instead of what God's Word says and if that is the case, then we need to change," (p.28). I needed a change. I still require several.
One of them was once again looking at what it means in following Jesus to let our yes be yes and our no be no. Joyce reminds her readers that it's okay to say no and she wrote "We are responsible for being obedient to God, not keeping everyone in the world happy by doing everything they want us to do." (p.251-252). While we have permission to say no, Joyce is a fan of keeping your word when we do say yes. Responsibility redefined.
Whether you find yourself in trouble over the words you say or find yourself fighting negativity, this book is probably for you.
