The Secret Life of Walter Mitty opens Christmas Day but the breakout story may be José Gonzalez, the Swedish songwriter and guitarist whose soaring score lights up the film's trailer and soundtrack. Directed and helmed by Ben Stiller, Mitty tells the classic Thurber tale about a man who leaves his hum-drum every day existence behind and disappears into a world of filled with adventurous, romantic day-dreams filled with romantic feats of heroism.

Gonzalez sings three songs on the soundtrack, including "Stay Alive," a song with video that premieres this week.

For his part, Gonzalez' music sounds as epic as the spectacular scenes that accompany Mitty's dreams. Step Out makes the imagry almost leap from the screen leaving you feeling as immersed in sea, sky and snow-capped mountain as Mitty imagines. The music swells into an explosion of harmony that emulates embracing life.

Directed by 'Out Cold's Emmet Malloy, "Stay Alive" puts Gonzalez squarely into Mitty's shoes as he shifts through photographic images from the film. His third song is a cover of the John Lennon tune "9 Dream."

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty soundtrack is available now on Amazon.com. Through the month of December you can pick up copies of Gonzalez's previous CDs with the band, Junip for 10% off when you use the code, "WalterMitty."
