Steve Jobs (Ashton Kutcher) in college was a party animal. He was a visionary. He was not an ordinary guy. He and a few friends were able to build the first of what would become the home computer. Steve Wozniak (Josh Gad) and Steve Jobs were the founding fathers of Apple Computers. The first office was in Jobs' father's garage. Paul Jobs (John Gertz) allowed his son to take over the garage and put together an empire.
In the first days they were able to put together the boards that would be the basis of the computer. It was with Apple II that they would finally market the home computer. They needed money and a gentleman by the name of Mike Markkula (Dermont Mulroney) would bankroll them.
I wish I could say that everything went well after that but it didn't. Look when they first started these guys were nobodies who had a dream. It was fun. It was new. It was exciting. Then they had to grow up.
During the early days of Apple Jobs knocked up his girlfriend . This guy was such an asshole he kicked her out of the house and when the baby was born he didn't care. He had tunnel vision and all he could see was building a new industry. He would receive notes from his daughter as she grew up asking to see him. He would blow her off.
Karma is a good thing. You see when the firm was taking off and money was coming in. He cut off some of those early friends who helped him in the garage and didn't even bother to give them founder stock.
When Apple was losing money and there were now a Board of Directors Jobs would be voted out. The company he built from the ground up was taken away from him. Karma came and took from him what he was. It was in this time he would turn his life around. He would interact with his child. He would garden. He would become a man.
This is a movie of a true man. A man who had vision and purpose and a man who even with his flaws could still see the greater good. Ashton Kutcher has also grown up. With this role I can say that he has finally come into his own and is now an Actor. Before I always just considered him to be Demi's boy toy. I am very impressed with his performance in this movie. I commend Director Joshua Michael Stern on his sight and direction with this film. I really thought I would dread watching this but I must say I am impressed and I learned from this movie. So I want you to take the time to watch this movie and Enjoy.
