At Jimmy's Urban Bar and Grill in Denver, they've combined all the happiness into each morsel of their food and with a unique twist to the gastropubs in Denver. Owner/Executive Chef Jimmy Bernat is passionate about his food and brings the style of Chicago to the heart of the Mile High city.
Jimmy's is located on 1530 Blake St. Unit B in Denver , in the LoDo area of downtown Denver. When you walk into the restaurant you are greeted by a side by side painting of the Chicago and Denver skyline, a work done by a local Denver artist.
Jimmy’s Urban Bar and Grill’s menu changes monthly and they incorporate fresh local and organic food that Colorado has to offer. They have of theme they call their Killer Cuisines and Cocktails which they pair their food with signature beers they carry.Jimmy’s also has happy hour specials every day of the week that you can find on a colorful chalkboard adjacent to the bar. All of their meats are smoked and cured in house and Jimmy recently talked about a new purchase the restaurant has made that enhances the quality of their meat. ’We’ve recently bought an oven that cooks all of the meat at the same temperature throughout'.
Innovative and different, Jimmy's also like to incorporate Denver's culture into the theme of his restaurant. Local artist's feature their work along with live music every 1st Saturday of the month ( will change to every 2nd Saturday begining this summer). If the art doesn’t catch your attention, maybe their weekend brunch menu will. With nothing over $12, be sure to take advantage of their bottomless mimosas or their own signature Heirloom infused Bloody Mary, their mix is made fresh everyday.
What's on the menu?
Drinks—' No namer’ Margarita—Jalapeño cilantro infused tequila, with Baranjager honey pear and house made sweet and sour mix. It’s has a kick of spicy and salty with a sweet after taste. A drink for the daring and sweet.
Chef Crafted Heirloom Infused Bloody Mary—signature sauce made fresh daily, is a spicy alternative to the classic bloody mary , with a house infused veggie vodka. You might never want to go back to anything other than this.
Appetizers—Greek Nachos—gyro-meat on a bed of flash fried pita chips with red pepper aioli, house made green chile hummus and riata sauce. It boasts of the ‘three C-s: Crispy, crunchy and creamy’. The meat is juicy, tender and seasoned , it makes a great first starter to any meal at Jimmy's. You can just taste the hint of the red pepper aioli and bring a light sweetness . It an be filing on its own, or you could share with a friend, but why would you?
Entrée—African Chicken & Waffles— a melasuda chili fried chicken breast served alongside pork bellied and bacon stuffed waffle and creamed spinach with a Crown Royale Maple gravy. To say this dish is delicious falls short! You’ve have the sweet and saltiness of the pork and bacon and that marries together with the spiciness of the chicken and sweetness of the maple syrup.
