In order to maintain a beautiful garden you need to have superior physical endurance, strong muscles and a solid core. Endurance is required to haul mulch, rake leaves, or till the garden for long stretches of time before becoming winded. If you can only do a task for a few minutes without having to stop and catch your breath, you are in physical trouble. To lift forty pounds of manure and fertilizer bags and haul them from the garden center to the car, from the car to the garden, you must have strong muscles and a solid core. This keeps you from getting back injuries.
This weekend at the Miami Beach Convention Center, there was a three day event called Sweat USA Fitness Festival. The top draw was the chance to work out with your favorite TV fitness guru such as Jillian Michaels of “The Biggest Loser.” Shaun T of” Insanity”, Tony Horton of “Power90”, Leandro Carvalho of “Brazilian Tummy Tuck” and “Brazilian Butt Lift” and Jennifer Nicole Lee of “JNL Fusion.” There were also one hundred vendors offering nutritional samples and tips, work out clothing, local chiropractic and back clinics, spa treatments, protein, and local businesses offering fresh cooked healthy meals prepared and delivered to your door.
Jillian’s popularity is based upon her common sense coaching style. “Life is about balance and moderation, it’s like balancing your checking account,” she explained.
Jillian reaches into each person to discover their “why” meaning what motivates them for change, and then also seeks an emotional attachment to achieve the end results. When asked about the farm fresh movement and nutrition, Jillian credited her partner Heidi for educating her about growing your own and organic living. “My back yard is full of grow boxes, and my daughter likes to eat from the garden and pick out caterpillars, “ Jillian revealed. “When she goes out she starts eating all plants she sees and I have to stop her and explain to eat just what we grow in our garden. “
Jillian Michaels had a packed class for her new workout called “Bodyshred.” I had the opportunity to partake in the class, which included two pound weights. The announcer warned us that toward the end of the session, those two pound weights would feel like fifty! I had never taken one of her classes and rarely do group class at my gym. Jillian recommended doing fewer reps if need be, and preferred you stick to great form. I appreciated that bit of advice. She also did a quick run through of each exercise in order for us to be familiar with the routine. That also was a great help for us beginners.
The event was a thrill for professional trainers, fitness buffs as well as novices.
