Packing a cast of talented from Jennifer Love-Hewitt to Jon Lovitz, "Jewtopia" is a rom-com about a plumber named Christian (Ivan Sergei), who wants to marry a Jewish woman Why specifically a Jewish woman? Because, he never wants to make another decision in his whole life. Apparently, Jewish women make all the decisions in a Jewish household. On a side note, a man named Christian is unlikely to haul in many Jewish women.
Alison, (Jennifer Love-Hewitt), is the woman he wants and with help from his boyhood best friend Adam, (Joel David Moore), he manages to make an ass out of himself when he takes her out to dinner.
Alison is so offended by Christian's poor behavior that she doesn't return his calls. When he does get in touch with her, she tells him that she will get a restraining order against him. So much for Alison, or is it? Christian managers to wiggle his way back into her life by getting to know her mother played by Wendie Malick. Malick is a wonderful actress and she is the best thing about this film.
Back to our story: Christian/Avi Rosenburg (the name he made up to be Jewish), takes himself and Adam on an insane roller coaster ride. So insane that Adam has reverted back to his 13 year-old self who ran out of his Bar Mitzvah yelling that he didn't want to be a man, as he was removing his clothing ... all of his clothing, in the Synagogue.
Out of all this mess, Adam ends up the nut house, a marriage is canceled and a circumcision is performed, (yes, you read that right).
"Jewtopia" has its moments, but I believe it would offend many Jews. It will offend everyone else with its crude visuals. Once again, 'frat boy' humor fails to entertain.
