Jenny McCarthy brought her “Jenny McCarthy’s Dirty, Sexy, Funny” show to the Music Box at Borgata Saturday evening, May 10, 2014.
Opening with a video of McCarthy acting out as a not so capable "Pole Dancer" had the audience howling even before she took the stage. Perhaps, due to the opening video or her audience recognition, McCarthy's stage entrance was greeted with applause, whistles and bursts of laughter.
McCarthy has now added producer to her list of achievements. The way she sees the world is the basis for her new endeavor. McCarthy’s touring with her “Dirty, Sexy, Funny,” showcasing a number of breakout female comics. “I decided to put together a group of women, who were really funny and it’s worked out really well.”
McCarthy, disappointingly does not do stand-up herself as she has an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor and timing. She follows her video by coming on stage prior to introducing the comedians. McCarthy herself could do stand-up and in her own way is keeping the audience warmed up for the performers.
Looking more like she is in her early thirties - even though she admits to forty-one, McCarthy still tells it like it is and has never been a shrinking violet. She has been speaking her mind her entire adult life.
McCarthy is the newest addition to the " The View". Obviously, a strong woman who has strong opinions coupled with a sense of humor just seems to fit the show. McCarthy does not shy away from touchy topics and adds her thoughts and ideas even if they are not the accepted norms. McCarthy puts all of her attributes to good use as she is very attractive, very intelligent and as her video is testament to the fact that she can be really funny.
McCarthy has been visible for quite awhile. Not long after posing for Playboy and being named Playmate of the Year two decades ago, McCarthy packed her bags and left her hometown of Chicago to make her way to Los Angeles. McCarthy's first big break came in 1995 as co-host of the MTV game show named, "Singled Out." Her wacky humor and quirkiness garnered her a request from the show producers to tone it down some.
In an interview McCarthy said, "I don’t have any desire to do stand-up… Everything is going very well for me right now. I can’t complain about a thing." As well she shouldn’t. Her new venture is gaining positive revues. Her stint on the “The View” has been met with great success plus her engagement to Donnie Wahlberg, he popped the question in April and presented her with a gorgeous 14-carat yellow sapphire ring, what more can she ask?
Oops, there is one more thing, McCarthy will sit down with her boyfriend and Paul (Wahlberg) to talk about possibly having a burger named after herself. Like days of old, once you have a sandwich or in this case a hamburger named after you…. you know you have made it!
