Jeffrey Gimble - Beyond Up High

Sometimes when you look at a CD from an artist that you've never heard of and you have no clue what it sounds like. I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to the new project from Jeffrey Gimble. The album is titled Beyond Up High. This is his debut album and it was produced by Mark Winkler and arranged by Tamir Hendelman and Rich Eames. Gimble has quite a warm and rich voice. I was really impressed with his interpretation of Hum Drum Blues and High Wire. The first song was from the late Oscar Brown, Jr and he second is a Chick Corea song.

This is a CD that is easy to listen to. As a matter of fact, I listened to it for a few hours. There are 10 songs on the disc including: Sweet and Lovely, Rainy Days, It Only Happens When I Dance, Ain't No Sunshine, All The Things You Are and The Windmills of Your Mind. The album is scheduled for release around April 15, 2013. I think you will be pleasantly surprised as I was when you hear this man sing.
