Three outstanding musicians have joined together to create the album Jazz Funk Soul. Keyboard artist supreme Jeff Lorber, guitar master Chuck Loeb and powerful saxophonist Everette Harp blend their immense talents to make an album that has funk, rock, jazz and R&B. All three gentlemen have had tremendous success in their own right in contemporary jazz. The trio toured together and have great chemistry with each other that making this album really made sense.

There are ten songs on this disc and some of the notable are: Adrenaline, We Were There, Serious Business, D.C. and Speed of Light. The trio is backed up on this project with some other outstanding talent including: John Patitucci, Jimmy Haslip and James Genus on bass, Brian Dunne, Gary Novak and Lionel Cordew on drums, A. Ray "The Weeper" Fuller on guitar, Lenny Castro on percussion, Till Bronner on trumpet, Mark Hollingswoth on flute and Dave Mann on saxophone.

When listening to this album you get the sense that these guys were having fun. Sometimes that is the best thing to do when making music, just have fun. The sheer joy of playing music often brings out the best albums. Some of the music on this album will make you want to dance, smile and have a good time. Jeff Lorber, Chuck Loeb and Everette Harp make it work on this project.

It is great that the three of them got together to make this album. Jazz Funk Soul is an appropriate title for this project. The album provides all three elements and more. I have long been a fan of Jeff Lorber going back to the fusion days. Chuck Loeb is a member of Fourplay with Bob James, Harvey Mason and Nathan East and they have a great sound. Everette Harp is a giant in stature and music. He stands about 6'6'' and has played with some of the biggest names in music including: Aretha Franklin, Billy Joel, Herbie Hancock and the list goes on and on. Thumbs up on a beautiful album!
