Jackie Chan kicks more butt for your buck

International action star Jackie Chan has been wowing audiences for years with his spectacular martial arts skills, extreme stunts, and comedic timing creating some of the most memorable on screen action in cinema history. Echo Bridge Entertainment has released four of these legends films together on Blu-Ray.

For this release they have combined 4 films to a unique set including the Operation Condor and Project A series. In the Operation Condor series, also known as Armour of God and Armour of God II: Operation Condor, Chan plays a Indiana Jones type adventurer running rampant around the world. Filled with his normal brand of spectacular martial arts and comedy both films contain some of Chan’s best action scenes. What you may not know is that with the U.S. release the films have actually been switched. Armour of God II was released here first and labeled as Operation Condor, so when they finally decided to release the original film, they labeled it as Operation Condor 2: The Armour of God. The films can be watched in either order and don’t have much effect, but does cause some confusion with fans.

In the Project A series we are taken on more of a period piece, taking place in the 1900’s follows more the styling of Buster Keaton with it’s take on the action, while still delivering some brilliant martial arts sequences. In addition to Chan’s usual antics, in the first film he brings along the other members of the 3 stooges of martial arts Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao. Although neither of them returns for the second film, it still steps up the same quality of action and humor like you have come to expect from Chan.

In addition to the greatness of these films, the original Operation Condor is also the series where Jackie Chan came the closest to dieing while filming. When jumping to a tree in a scene, the branch snapped and he fell 15 feet smashing his head open and driving bone into his brain. Just another day in the office for Chan.
