Jack and Jill wasn't as fun as most of Sandler's other movies. Normally, when Sandler dresses up as a girl, just the fact that he did it is enough to elicit a giggle. Normally, a Happy Madison production is really funny.
Jack and Jill wasn't as funny as it was cute and it was cute. But, not so much on the funny.
Jack and Jill are twins and don't spend much time together, until now.
Jill flies out to be with her twin and his family, in celebration of their birthday. Jack is hating the idea, but, determined to get through the ordeal. Jill is loud, brash, brusque, thoughtless, sweats entirely too much and totes her Cockatoo Poopsy everywhere that she can. She is also slightly gassy.
As Jack's children get to know their Aunt Jill, they come to care about her. Even Jack comes to care about her, but it takes him longer than it took the children.
The twins begin to synch up. They expel gas together and laugh together, at the same time and in the same manner. They do this until Jack realizes it, then, he purposely changes his laugh.
As Jack begins to have some compassion for Jill, he sets up online dating profiles, makes her sound better than she is and she receives at least a hundred interested responses.
She meets one the respondents, a man known only as Funbucket. The two go out for dinner and he goes to the restroom, where he stays for quite awhile. She goes looking for him and misses him as he is hovering over a toilet and hanging off of a light fixture like a vampire bat. She goes home, cries and eats a lot.
The next day, Jack takes his sister to a basketball game, where Johnny Depp and Al Pacino have cameos as game attendant's. Pacino doesn't wish to be seen, so he sports a wild beard and is shown on the TV screen, in spite of his attempts to hide himself.
This is where Pacino meets Jill and becomes attracted to her, but she doesn't return his interest.
Jack introduces himself to Pacino, in hopes of getting him to do a television commercial for Dunkin' Donuts. Pacino hopes to use this as a way to get to Jill.
The movie ends well, or so it would seem.
Pacino does the commercial, but hates it and wants every copy of it to be destroyed.
Jack and his family remain intact and Jill ends up with Felipe, Jack's gardener.
There are also cameos by Christie Brinkley, Dana Carvey, Drew Carrey, Jared Fogle, Michael Irvin, John McEnroe, Shaquille O'Neal David Spade.
