Last night this writer attended Ivan Parker's concert at Lincoln Christian University, listening to Southern Gospel classics. He sang:
- Going to be a big change
- Sail on
- The Best Hallelujah
- I choose Jesus
He has been touring with his son, Josh Parker for the last two years. Talent obviously runs in the family and Ivan Parker has been dubbed, 'The Voice.' He has sung for years with the Gaithers and other Southern Gospel music stars for the last 30 years. Ivan sings with a smooth baritone that pulls his listeners into the songs that he sings. He often includes his audience and freely communicates with them, making his audience relaxed and almost feeling as if they were at home. Since touring with his son, Josh, the two have developed comedic ad libs which delight the listeners. Just do not give Ivan any more cinnamon rolls! I guess you will have to watch the video to find out why.
There is also a brief interview and some highlights from his show in the video portion. If you would like to know where Ivan Parker will be touring in the near future, you can see his Tour. Ivan Parker has to be one of the most humble music artists this writer has ever met. He instantaneously makes you feel as if you are interviewing him in his living room. Check out his tour schedule and if he will be performing in your area make sure you buy your tickets early.
For those who thrive on Southern Gospel music, Ivan Parker plus a host of other SG stars will be performing on the Crystal Caribbean Cruise in January 2015. Some of the other SG stars that will be singing with Ivan Parker are: the Hoppers, Karen Peck & New River, Tribute Quartet,Whisnants, Jeff & Sheri Easter, Michael English, and the Talleys. For more information about this cruise, go to Caribbean Cruise 2015. Ivan Parker is a must-see concert and this writer highly recommends his tour.
