It's National Peanut Butter Day---Field Day has yours

Peanut butter is a universe unto its own. EVERYthing tastes better when peanut butter is in the neighborhood, from cookies, candy, peanut butter sitting on a cracker, Puppy Chow snacks, to this---Leona's Peanut Butter Streusel Coffeecake.

Today, UPS delivered a box full of goodies Field Day wanted me to try. Inside that box were a family of cereals (you'll hear more about them another time), and Field Day's peanut butter, a jar each of smooth (green lid) and crunchy (red lid). It's true that daughter Heather and I have to stay away from PB. As folks with food allergies will tell you, it's tough saying no to foods we've come to love. We were fortunate to find a tasty organic almond butter that our organic food co-op carries in their bulk department. It's what you see in the plastic container next to the PB jars. If you can't eat PB, AB is a terrific alternative to that Great American Food.

My bad, I had to try this wonderful comfort food. In no time, I'd screwed off the red lid, ripped off the safety seal---and oh, the aroma that filled the room! I grabbed a spoon to stir the oils back into the peanut butter,,,then took a bite. THIS and only this is what peanut butter should taste like! Field Day's PB has nothing that gets in the way of great taste, just two ingredients---organic peanuts and sea salt. No sugars, no additives, no distractions.

I've sung the praises of other Field Day products in this space---their crackers, mentioned above, and their pastas. As far as I know, PB is a new arena for Field Day. And I couldn't be happier for all the folks who are looking for healthy foods. I hope Field Day adds even more choices to their already-impressive catalog of foods.

In particular what Field Day succeeds at, for this food consumer, are three of the most important reasons I'm loyal to a brand: Products that

  • are both delicious and healthy,
  • are affordable,
  • wear the USDA seal, the Non-GMO Project Verified label, and PB jars wear a third label, "BPA-free jar."

If I'm ever free of my intolerance to PB, know that Field Day's PB is the brand I'll buy.
