Last week on Saturday, Dec 14, Miami Fashion Network was called to attend a model search event for the moderately priced beach lifestyle brand, Island Company based in Palm Beach, FL. The fashion house, known for its slogan “Quit your job, buy a ticket, get a tan, fall in love, never return.” did just the opposite, as they hosted a organized affair to finalize the next male/female models to be the face of their 2014 AD campaign. The evening began with food and drinks and beats from DJ Adam Lipson at their Worth Ave location. Handpicked guests were able to view a behind-the-scenes video of the original 300+ participants, followed by a runway show of the final contestants. The judges panel was made up of Island Company staff including Spencer Antle; founder and creative director and brand manager; Linda Uribe, Next model Miami owner; Ron Gerard, Grace Puc; next model senior agent, as well as the editor of Haute Living Miami; Hadley Henriette to name a few.
Finally, the winners were narrowed down to a female model, Lexi and one male, Chad. Surprisingly all the runners up, received contracts with Next model management Miami. All in all, Island Company created a platform that was a cool interactive way to embrace the community while featuring local hot model talent sporting their low-key duds.
