"Insidious: Chapter 2" is a sequel to 2011's "Insidious" and is directed by James Wan. The movie stars Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne reprising their roles as Josh and Renai Lambert a couple who are trying to free Josh's soul from the dark forces who wish to control him."Insidious: Chapter 2" is playing at the Bow Tie Theater in Hartford.
The cast of characters carried over from the first film, namely, Barbara Hershey as Lorraine Lambert and Lin Shaye as Elise Ranier, all work well together. Wilson and Byrne especially act convincingly as both parents and as a couple madly in love with each other. The relationship between the pair and their children is the thread that mostly keeps the film together. However, the main problem with "Insidious: Chapter 2" is that it's simply not scary. While "Insidious" left one terrified to leave the theater, "Insidious: Chapter 2", mostly bores. Rent "Insidious" instead Hartford and skip out on seeing its sequel.
