Incredible pollo almafi at San Remo in Cary, NC

Pasta so delicious from San Remo Bar and Grill in Cary, NC, convinced this island-girl examiner that pasta can be out-of-this-world too.

The pollo almafi delivers an explosion of flavors around extremely tender chicken and very thin cappellini pasta.

Thinned chicken breast is sprinkled with black pepper, grilled then placed atop strands of pasta. A rosemary and thyme white wine reduction sauce showers the cappellini with lusciousness while capers, roasted red peppers and mushrooms complete the extraordinary dish. Nothing is more comforting than digging into a delicious meal that is filling without weighing you down.

Several slices of soft ciabatta bread are served with the pasta. This garlic bread is perfectly seasoned with a touch of olive oil and garlic.

The penne Isabella is a yummy choice if you like cream sauce over your pasta. The chicken was also tender and the snow peas were refreshing for a rich dish. However, the peas needed to be de-veined. This dish came with heavy hunks of bread, unlike the light ciabatta.

In addition to San Remo’s dishes made-to-order, they also provide a small buffet. The other diners seemed to completely enjoy the buffet line saying “I love the chicken. It’s so tender.” Other than chicken, the buffet includes pasta, pizza, salad, ribs, creamy potatoes and freshly made onion rings.

For a healthy lunch or dinner, choose the pollo almafi or another non-cream based sauce. Alternatively, eat half of your meal, sharing the other half or saving it for tomorrow.

Check-out San Remo’s for a casual, open and welcoming place to eat with friends, colleagues and family.
