Everyone has their own identity. In Baltimore City, it is no different. Business men, college students, skaters, and dog lovers, are just some of the personalities that make up the unique people living in the city. When first hearing that James Mangold was directing a film written by Michael Cooney, you kind of expect an unrealistic mutant killer snowman. However, you would be greatly mistaken of judging their filmIdentity, before viewing it. The film consists of two parallel stories, a group of ten individuals are trapped at a Nevada motel because of the weather, and a prisoner who is being considered for a pardon, due to his mental state. The trapped individuals in the motel quickly discover something’s wrong when they begin being killed off by someone or something. John Cusack and Ray Liotta go on a man hunt to find the killer, only to discover strange coincidences between the group, and supernatural occurrences. With each death, more questions arise while each individual tries to maintain their grip on reality. During their struggle for life, the film cuts back to the prisoner as he is being questioned about his victims. This film is clever, has amazing acting, a terrifying atmosphere, and a brilliant plot twist. In addition to the thought provoking story line, it doesn't skimp on the gore. From explicit car accidents, to baseball bats, this film hits all the high notes any good horror movie holds. Anyone who enjoys suspense should see this movie, and with the constant questioning of who is who, there is only one thing to ask yourselves Baltimore. Who are you?
