Hunters: 'Hands On Fire' (2011)

"Hands On Fire" by Hunters is a high energy Garage Rock EP.

The EP seems to be a real "Garage Rock" in the original UK sense of the term. While Guitars can be present, songs typically revolve around the backbone of a grungy bass and drums.

The opening track entitled "Deadbeat" consists vocally of a spitfire back and forth between a male and female, bringing to mind some work by Pixies. This is a style that is present in the majority of the EP.

Tracks like "Brat Mouth" start off no holds barred, before transitioning into a straight punk rock chorus that chugs along. This is a cool song with a strong head bobbing groove, out of nowhere they dip into some heavy but enjoyable noise rock which elevates the track above average.

Overall "Hand On Fire" has a very dirty and gritty sound that manages to also be well produced, having both of these attributes is a rare find.
