In the fall of 2009, Hot Chelle Rae opened for Third Eye Blind (back when singer Ryan Follese had jet black hair). Shortly afterward their hit “I Like To Dance,” aka “Lovesick Electric,” blew up on popular radio. Now, with almost as many facebook fans as Third Eye Blind, they’re packing houses all over the nation and touring off their most recent album, Whatever.
They brought their Beautiful Freaks Tour to the House of Blues on February 23. The band’s fan base is pretty young but it was evident from their screams of joy that they were more than excited to see their favorite band play live.
Their set list included older hits like “I Like To Dance” and “Bleed” as well as newer singles “Tonight Tonight” and “I Like It Like That.”
Unfortunately I got to the venue in time to photograph only the third song, but the lighting was great. It was clear that the band was feeding off the crowd's seemingly endless supply of energy!
