"This House Possessed" is a 1981 TV film that was directed by William Wiard. The TV film starred Parker Stevenson, Lisa Eilbacher, Joan Bennett, and Slim Pickens. The movie is generally about a singer (Stevenson) who takes a vacation after falling ill because of stress and buys a real 'modern' home. He gets a nurse named, Shelia (Eilbacher) to move in with him to be his live-in nurse. Well the two hit it off, and everything looks shining for these two, but what they don't know is they are living in a house that is quite evil. It has a mind of its own. You could call this one a cautionary tale about too much technology in a home!

The film itself is decent. Wouldn't say it's the scariest TV film out there, but it does have some intense scenes like a bloody shower scene, and the few last ending scenes are pretty good. The mirror scene will make you think twice about mirrors.

"This House Possessed" starts out slow, but gradually gets better. What added more to the movie is with Shelia, she doesn't remember the first seven years of her life. It's not hard to put two and two together, but it makes it more than just your usual haunted house fare too. Can a house actually love? Hate? This movie sure thought so!

The film is a little cheesy, but it's fun nevertheless. Definitely one TV movie that should be watched at least once in your lifetime if of course you haven't seen it yet. It has it's big moments and stick with it, the film might be a little slow, but once it gets going it actually does well for itself. I would say it's definitely in the top 20 best TV horror flicks.
